2005-09-21 - Cygate challenges Telia and TDC Internordia/Dotcom – acquires Bravida Communications
Cygate acquires Bravida Communications, a systems integrator with focus on telephony solutions. By that, Cygate is further strengthening its ability to compete with the solutions provided by Telia and TDC Internordia/Dotcom. The take over will take place on the 1st of October.
The acquisition of Bravida Communications means that Cygate is now significantly strengthening its telephony offer, becoming a complete supplier of traditional, IP- and hybrid telephony solutions, i.e. solutions consisting of both IP- and traditional telephony.
Since its founding in 2002, Bravida Communications has delivered telephony solutions to customers such as Föreningssparbanken, Länsförsäkringar, Chalmers among others. By becoming a part of Cygate, the company is now strengthening its network competency, and together with Cygate, is able to deliver solution containing telephony installation as well as network upgrade.
“For Bravida Communications, this acquisition means that we finally get access to the network competence that Cygate has a long and solid experience of, a part that has been a missing piece of the puzzle for us and something that we have not been able to offer to our customers,” says Malte Niclasson, CEO Bravida Communications.
In addition to Cisco platforms, Cygate will now also be able to offer Ericsson as well as Nortel platforms within both traditional and IP based telephony. These platforms are estimated to covering 80 percent of the installed base in Sweden.

We are able to offer competitive solutions and challenge the small amount of other vendors traditionally dominating the market by providing breath.
