Press Release
As the new year has begun, the Skåne-based IT company Avansys has changed its name to Cygate. This follows on the acquisition of Avansys by Cygate in 2008. Cygate now has a total staff of 120 in Skåne, and supported by the expanded organisation, the company has become a significantly stronger business partner and supplier in the region. The name change also covers Timsys and Avinova, former subsidiaries of Avansys.
Cygate is the leading Nordic systems integrator, with a broad offering of services that include networking, security, storage, voice, mobile solutions, virtualisation and hosting.
“Despite the economic downturn, the Øresund region is hot. Skåne is part of one of the fastest growing urban regions in the European Union, and we see a growing need for leading-edge IT skills and services in southern Sweden,” says Bengt Lundgren, CEO of Cygate. “The acquisition has greatly added to our presence and strength in Skåne.”
Through the acquisition, Cygate grows its organisation and makes key additions to its offering of services and skills. The merger affects 85 coworkers at the offices in Malmö, Helsingborg and Kristianstad, who now become Cygate employees.
”Cygate is a well respected and brand in the systems integration market, and we are confident that our efforts to widen the scope of our enterprise in Skåne will benefit our customers, as well as our coworkers,” says Mikael Ryberg, Cygate’s Regional Manager for Skåne.
During the summer of 2009, Cygate will merge its offices in Malmö, moving into all-new premises located in the Swedbank Stadium, where the company also is involved as a provider of spectacular technology to the new arena. During January, Skåne will also become a little more yellow, thanks to Cygate’s extensive local marketing campaign to announce its growing presence in Skåne.
